On October 31, the 2025 Kazakhstan Global Investment Roundtable concluded successfully in Astana. Mr. Zhang Tianhua, Chairman of Shandong Guangming Biotechnology Co., Ltd., was invited to attend and participate in related exchange activities. During the event, Chairman Zhang Tianhua signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on a broiler breeder farm project together with the CEO of Alel Agro JSC and the Vice Governor of Zhambyl Region.
Alel Agro is the largest broiler chicken and poultry meat producer and distributor in Kazakhstan, holding approximately 17% of the national market share. As an industry benchmark, the company adheres to standardized production and high-quality output, having established a fully integrated industrial chain from farming to food processing. This philosophy aligns closely with Guangming Bio’s corporate vision of “driving industry progress through excellence and continuous innovation, and providing optimal genetic resources to global customers.” In addition, Zhambyl Region’s advantageous geographic location, abundant agricultural resources, well-developed industrial infrastructure, and open policy environment have laid a solid foundation for the successful cooperation of this project.
The three parties will jointly develop a modern, intelligent breeder farm in Zhambyl Region. The project will introduce Guangming’s proprietary systems, including precision nutritional control, refined production technologies, core operating procedures, and intelligent equipment solutions. Leveraging the region’s well-established agricultural ecosystem, the project will establish a closed-loop industrial chain covering “breeding – slaughtering – processing – sales,” laying the groundwork for a regional grandparent stock supply system. This cooperation marks the official entry of China’s independently developed white-feather broiler breeding lines and full-industry-chain technologies, represented by “Guangming,” into the Central Asian market, further advancing agricultural cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative.
What Guangming Bio exports through this project is not only breeder chickens, but also a replicable Guangming technological system.
Guangming Bio has long been committed to independent breeding of white-feather broilers. Through in-depth cooperation with the Institute of Animal Sciences of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS), the company has established a modern breeding system centered on genomic selection, precision phenotyping, and intelligent breeding management. The “Guangming No. 2” white-feather broiler supporting line has reached internationally advanced levels in disease resistance, production performance, and meat quality, breaking the long-standing monopoly of imported breeds and representing a major national breakthrough in broiler breeding.
The strategic significance of this cooperation goes beyond the industrial level. It is a concrete practice of implementing China’s 15th Five-Year Plan proposals and the important guidance put forward by President Xi Jinping at the first phase of the 32nd APEC Economic Leaders’ Informal Meeting on “deepening regional cooperation and promoting the development of an open world economy.” By using agricultural genetic resources as a bridge for cooperation, the project contributes to regional food security, livestock modernization, and sustainable development, demonstrating the responsibility of Chinese enterprises to promote shared growth through openness and collaboration.
Looking ahead, Guangming Bio will take this cooperation as a new starting point to continuously advance international exchanges in seed industry science and technology, intelligent farming, and modern management.
